A Glimpse of Heaven

Revelation 7:9-10
“After this I looked, and there was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, robed in white, with palm branches in their hands. They cried out in a loud voice, saying, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!’”.

Looks like we will all be in heaven together after all… we might as well get a head start learning how to get along. How and where do we begin to find our unity, while still affirming this beautiful diversity described?

  1. Hi Drew,
In humility, I think. Everytime I begin at all to think how cool I am, God shows me how that separates me from others. When we step back a pace or two, and really look at any other person, we can see how different we may be on the surface, but how alike we are in the heart. It’s in genuine interest in and concern for others. It’s in treating each other with respect and kindness–how we’d like to be treated–and honoring God by honoring the life and soul that God gave to each of us. God loves us all so much! It’s out turn to show some love back.

  2. Humility is so important, and even though it is such a simple answer it is so hard for us to live out. But when we do, we are able to really interact with one another authentically as humans who indeed half much more in common than we may all think. Thanks for your thoughts, continue to pass on that love of God.
